The Initiative was started in 2021 by CGI Munich and is run successfully with the support of Maharashtra Mandal Munich, Sakal Media Group & Garje Marathi Global.
It was conceptualized by Dr. Suyash Chavan (Indian Foreign Service 2018) posted at CGI Munich to reduce the gaps in the awareness of global opportunities among Indian students.
Compared to other developed countries, higher education in most Germany Universities is either free or affordable. Germany will require 400000 skilled immigrant workers every year during the next decade. These educational and career opportunities can only be grasped by our students in the next 5-10 years if they have timely knowledge about them with the required skill-sets.
With this aim in mind, schools students are being given online guidance & mentoring with the help of Marathi diaspora.

The Initiative was initially aimed at connecting 75 schools across Maharashtra as a unique way of celebrating 75 years of Independence. At present over 1000 Government and Private schools across the state are a part of this initiative.
Regular online mega-sessions are conducted bringing thousands of students online on one platform. These sessions are called 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Global Awareness Periods'. Free online German language classes are also conducted on a weekly basis in association with ShantaDnyanu Foundation.
Marathi-speaking students and professionals in Germany are invited to share their experiences and give talks in Marathi on important topics to create awareness among the students. Since they come from similar backgrounds , the diaspora members serve as 'Role Models' for the school students.

The main themes discussed in the online sessions are - experience sharing, the importance of learning German language, opportunities in Germany, Health & General Awareness, Skill training, Introduction to New Technology like Blockchain etc
Biweekly free online German classes are held under our initiative. A team of German speaking Marathi professionals living in Germany teaches German language to interested school students under the guidance of Mr. Kedar Jadhav. Currently over 300 schools are enrolled in these free courses. A batch of 25 schools has already crossed the first level of German.
In the future, the students will be taught Spoken English and Computer Basics with the support of Maharashtrians around the world. We aim at reaching every village, every school in the state, thus utilizing technology to ensure bright future for our students.

Free Online German Language Classes for 300+ schools
ग्लोबल महाराष्ट्र इनिशिएटिव्ह अंतर्गत महाराष्ट्र राज्यभरातील शालेय मुले जर्मन भाषा ऑनलाइन शिकत आहेत. शांताज्ञानू फाउंडेशन 300 हून अधिक शाळांमध्ये जर्मन भाषा अभ्यासक्रम मोफत घेत आहे.School children learn German Language online under the Global Maharashtra Initiative: ShantaDnyanu Foundation is undertaking German language courses for over 300 schools free of cost. In the coming 5-10 years, these students will have the additional qualification to apply for various jobs in India and Germany.
